2nd gen AC install questions

Hello all,

This is my 1st post here. I'm in process of buying a 91 4Runner. It is bare bones as you can get, which is pretty much what I wanted. 22RE, 5 speed, manual everything (other than steering & brakes). The only issue is that is has NO Air Conditioning.

I've searched the archive and see some folks have installed the ACKITS.com product in their 2nd gens. I'm wondering if anyone has just bit the bullet and had the original Toyota factory setup installed. What would this cost me? I realize I probably don't want to do it this way as it will be the most expensive, but I'm curious what the price differential will be.

Also, for those of you that have installed the ACKITS.com kit, how's it work for you? Does it integrate with the stock air vents?

Thanks in advance, and a thank you for all the great info I gathered here before making the plunge and buying. This is not only my 1st 4Runner but it's my 1st Toyota as well.

-RD

I installed an ackits system in my 91 and it works fine.
Goes in like the factory air so it comes out the vents.

ACKits are half the price of the dealer kits.
