EZ-lift and many others simply put the spacer above the coil. Toytec puts the spacer in the coil and claims that it puts less stress on the ball joints and CV joints...is this true?

Makes sense to me. So, can any of you comment on real life experiences with top loaded spacers?


-Unlike other 'above the coil' spacer designs, our 'in-the-coil' pack front spacer design puts less stress on ball joints and CVs! When you move your entire coil-over spring assembly down several inches, like some of these mentioned 'above the coil' spacer companies want to try and sell you, this puts more stress on your ball joints and can over extend your suspension.
When you use our 'in-the-coil' spacers, your front shock limits the down travel of your suspension keeping your suspension more in perspective with what Toyota engineers designed it to be. Thus, putting less stress on major components! [Our 3" kit comes with a small 1/4" top plate spacer which allows some extra down travel... Keeping any extra stress within reason.

It sounds like their kit is very similar to Revtek's which similarly puts the larger spacer in the coil pack, and then uses a small top plate spacer in addition.

 

Yea, just did a little research and the EZ-Lift actually mounts the entire spacer on top of the strut assembly (which is why they dont require a coil-compressor for their product).

I think I am going to stay away from the top loaded spacer and go with the revtek/toytec design.

 

all lifts put stress on all joints. Im having a squeaking sound from mine. We cant really track what it is. The Revtek seems to be more popular than the Toytec. Most people like I said before use the Revtek/ Daystar/ or the Cornfeds. But many compaines make the spacer lift kits now. Even Roughcournty has a kit now.
