A friend of mine is hooking up white gauges and needs to tap the parking light wire so the gauges turn on with parking lights, etc.

Anyone know or have a pic of that wire? Color? If not, we have to run it to a corner light up front. He is trying not to do that.

I by passed thoes and wired it to the light in the auto shifter. I dont like to mess with the wires in the dash.

 

Mines a 96 but would think the color code is close or if not you could use a trusty meter to be sure I tapped into the wire off the dimmer switch "green with silver strips" comes on only when the dash light are on.

I would think tapping into the dimmer was a good option.
If you need the parking lights, they are green (+) at the 13 Pin Connector on Back of Fuse Panel:
