I cleaned my throttle body tonight and absent mindedly grabbed a can of carb cleaner not recommended for use with fuel injected engines (Gumout carb + choke cleaner). Did I make a catastrophic error? What kind of fallout if any can I expect from this?

you should be fine like 3.4 said. I wouldnt get into the habit of it just because it will burn up your cats.

 

Thanks for the reassurance. I read the lable on the can after the fact and started sweating bullets. The truck does seem to have a good bit more juice after the TB cleaning, so I guess it did its job.

 

sounds like it...... you should clean off your maf with a little alcohol as well... that always helps to pep up the engine
