Will 87 4runner fuel tank fit in 87pu Shortbed 4x4?

I installed an '87 4Runner tank in my '86 shortbed truck when I did my EFI conversion and it bolted right in. However, the filler neck on the tank was slightly different and I ended up having to extend the filler hose to make it work.
