Drive shaft vibration, due to rear lift
Hey guys,
I have about 2 1/2" of suspension lift in the rear, and no Panhard drop bracket. My axle is obviously slightly to the right side of the vehicle.
I know that the driveshaft is made to go up and down, and not left to right.
Does this cause a vibration?

As far as angles are concerned, your driveshaft doesn't know what is up/down/left/right. So no, the panhard has nothing to do with it.
Are you sure it's the driveshaft? I wouldn't think 2.5 inches on a truck with a long driveshaft would cause driveshaft vibration. Maybe on a short jeep or something...?

Okay, well, I was reading some article a while back about how the rear pumpkin and the transmission were not in perfect alignment...and a special double ended double cardan jointed driveshaft was fabbed to correct the vibration.
Must be a little different. I believe that WAS a Jeep.
Well, Im not sure where this vibration is coming from, but, when Im going about 85 on the freeway I seem to get some of the bumpies. I dont go that fast usually, but, it made me wonder what was causing it.
It could be the cornfed/OME stack going on. :/ ...the CV's arent in the natural state obviously.

You are correct about the driveshaft angle.
Driveshafts are meant to be allowed to move in one direction, whether that be left/right or up/down. What you have going on is a compound driveshaft angle. U joints just aren't meant to handle that diagonal movement. Obvioulsy, yours isn't super severe, but havving only one dimension moving would be ideal.
