Hey guys,

I finally found a shop that will repair sidewall damaged tires. They are located in Knoxville, TN, and they repaired both of my REVO's for $50, which would have only been $30, but I had already stitched one of them, which is not recommended. If I had not stitched one of them, it would have cost only $30. You don't have to run a tube, but I decided to anyway, just to be safe. So, after the tubes and installation back on my stock rims, it cost me $12/tube, plus $50 for the tire repairs, plus $10/tire installation. So the total was $94, and I got to keep my basically 3/4 tread REVO's.

I wheeled them really hard yesterday at 16 PSI, and I had no trouble at all.

The lesson to be learned here is always buy the free replacement road hazard protection. But, if you didn't, this is another slightly more costly option.

any pics? I don't know if i have seen a sidewall repaired on a passenger tire. Is it noticable??

 

Nope, but I could get some. It's a little dirty from the wheeling trip yesterday.

Bandag is a retreader so I am not surprised they were able to fix the sidewall properly.
Beware of others who claim to be able to do a good repair if they don't do retreads.

 

What kind of sidewall damage? It must have not been bad.

 

It wasn't good, that's for sure. I had tears in both tires over 2" long. They weren't holes, but they were torn over 2" long. Pretty bad in my books, both in the sidewalls by rim.
