Okay, I did the swap, need fine tuning help
A while back I posted about swapping the engine in my sons 96 Tacoma. It's 4WD/AT with the 3.8, and I'm swapping with the same motor. I had a little trouble at first because they had sent me a different year motor to start with so I sent it back and finally got what seemed like the right one. After the install I found that there was one small difference, a vacuum line coming out the side of the plenum. So I wound up switching the whole electrical harness out and using my original plenum. It runs great and evrything works as it should except for one thing, the high idle at start-up isn't working now. It makes it just a little hard to crank first thing or anytime it has been sitting a while but other than that everything is perfect. What am I missing or what can I do? I don't want to have to take it to the dreaded dealer if I don't have to. I figure if I got this far on my own hopefully I can get this last detail, but undoubtedly I need a little help!

Edit: You might want to look at cleaning and testing your idle air control valve (IAC).
If it is stuck or not working that would cause the condition you mentioned.

Here's a picture of the throttle body and the idle air control valve (green thing on the underside of the throttle body at the bottom of the picture) that I lifted from a previous thread:
