Talking New tires, OME860's and Ball Joint spacers. (PICS)

So.... I finally pulled the trigger...

I have modified my 4" superlift IFS kit with BJ spacers and longer rear coils in an attempt to have a better functioning IFS rig...

Yeah, new tires... after much debating I decided to go with MT/R's again... and I'm happy I did.. my last MT/R's were hard to balance and a bit out of round... these new ones ride solid and smooth as silk.. the guys at the tire store said they had never seen a set that balanced so easy.. I went with 33's again even though I most likely could have fit 35's... I already mashed some steering components with 33's and 35's would just be worse.

Here are the spacers.. the grinding was a pain but we got it done.

Here is the angle of the a-arms... with this combo of springs and BJspacers the front will actually be higher then the back if you haven't adjusted your T-bars, so I had the tire guys uncrank them a bit to get it level.

Rear coils, OME860's with stock rubber O-thingy on top of it... went on easy with no coil compressor needed.

I'm not real happy with the panhard angle right now, still trying to figure out what to do about that.

To all the people that said a 33" spare would not fit in the stock spare area, eat a big one

And here is what it looks like posing in the parking lot.

A few issues though.
1. this thing drove like a nightmare until I got it aligned... I thought I was going to die around a few corners.. also found that my pitman and idler arms were shot so replacing those helped too..
2. rear shock length... I need longer shocks now, because my rear downtravel is being limited. I'm at 26" extended 15.5" compressed.. I think I'm going to go with a 29.5" extended 17.7 compressed
3. I'm a little tipsy feeling now... I definitely would not recommend going any taller then this.. would nitrogen shocks help the body roll? or would they just be too stiff?

Final impressions are that this was a worth while mod... I can still stuff the rear tires and my front IFS travels much better... I have flex photos, but they are on another camera so I'll have to post them later.

Awesome bro! That thing is huge now. And that install was pretty easy. I'm glad you guys got it all finished up after I left. And Joel, your Runner makes mine look tiny now... punk.

No problem Joel. Anytime. Now we just need to go wheeling.

As for mine, hell yeah! I just need some cash first...

That looks really good. Hopefully you loosened up you torsion bars after the BJ spacer install. I can get some decent flex out of my front.

thanks Marc... I'll turn the bars down more as the rear springs settle... they've already been turned down some and I can tell the difference.

Thanks Casey, ok... I'll get 35's..... and then send you my credit card bill for all my gas... It would have been nice to have 35's, but I already spend $10 a day on gas and I can't really afford to spend anymore..

Thanks, I really think it's a bit too tall... but I'm sure the springs will break-in more and the height will come down a little...

More pictures coming soon!

I bet the rear upper passenger side link touch the gas tank.
You can get AllPro pan hard bar extension that will lift it up and you can get rid of the downey one.

Looks nice! Mine was also scary to drive after I did the BJ spacer install. Try driving with it like that in the SNOW!!!! As soon as I can get the cruiser coils on mine, I'm getting an alignment. Till then every day is a driving adventure !
