Tubing The Firewall On A 2nd Gen

I was thinking of ways to make 33's fit with out a BL or suspension lift, and had read some things on pirate about tubing the firewall to make more clearence.

I was just wondering if anyone had done this to a 2nd gen.?

If so what were some of the probalems?

Did you have to relocate the ECU (passenger side), Fuse Box (driver side). Those are just some of the things that I think would be in the way.

Thanks

With my BJ spacers and only a 1" bodylift, I clear 33x12.5's fine. Little trimming and such, but no real tubbing. I think that would be gross overkill for this project.

Most people put the ECU in the glove box. The wires are just long enough.

I agree with this. You can make 33s fit with a little trimming and a small body lift. Putting a small body lift on a 2nd gen in a breeze - You really don't even need to move the radiator or bumpers for a 1" lift and you can probably get by without any shifter either.
