My ultimate PC Design...critics welcome

This will technically be the first PC I've built...hes the specs, let me know your guys opinions before I buy

1 CPU - AMD 64 FX-55
2 Mother Board - Gigabyte Socket 939
3 Video Card - NVidia Geforce 6800 Ultra
4 Cooling - Water Cooling Undecided on which
5 Case - Aspire X SuperAlien 21 w/ 500 Watt Power Supply
6 Sound Card - Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Value
7 Speakers - Logitech Z-650
8 Monitor - I dunno about this I heard horror stories about 19" LCD's with games
9 RAM - Corsair PC3200 2 x 512 mb
10 CD/DVD - This doesnt matter now but dvd player and a dual layer burner

So what do you guys think?...It will probably run me around 3k+ but I'm not gonna order everything the same day so it will be more like a building up processes....you guys have any input?

kickass setup but does it really add up to 3k+?
H20 cooling necessary? unless you're a hardcore overclocker upping voltages and such.

Well it SHOULDNT be necessary but from what I've read the fan included with the AMD 64 FX-55 doesnt quite do it....and instead of going for a louder fan setup I think I can get this things extremely quiet and keep it cool too....

The 3k was just a quick add up in my head, hmmm mobo processor around 1000, case 150, CD/DVD and burners 400-500, speakers 200, video card 400-500, h20 cooling 100-200, HD's 200-300, monitor 400-700, ram 200-300 depending on what I decide on..

I need to do a lot of price shopping yet....so we'll see....

post some interior and exterior pix when its done.
Should be a fun buildup since i'm an amd fanboy.
But steered away from overclocking and building pc's as a hobby since i bought my truck.

Scrap the sound card and get the Audigy2 ZS, that is the ultimate gamer card, and I will be replacing my Creative Live 5.1 with it later.

The new 19" Viewsonic 12 ms monitor rocks for vids and gaming with no ghosting.

Member Drew just ordered the 912B last night, he should have it tommorow, and can let you know how it looks.
He is a very hardcore gamer, and very picky about this stuff.

By the way, I helped him build an AMD 64 FX-55 a few months back, but with an Asus mother board.
I feel Asus makes the best mobos period.
Very easy to overclcok too, right from the BIOS with one click.

ditch the case and get a cheiftech dragon, lot cheaper but a lot more sturdier, weighs 30lbs with out anything in it, and go for kingston hyper x memory, get dual channel if the mb supports it, its a lot cheaper than the corsair for the same performance, you can score a dual layer sony dvd wrighter for $70, and look on e-bay for the dell trinitron 21" monitors, imho the best crt monitor that you can buy!!

go to this for your cooling issues
the zelman 7700 all copper cpu fan is the best there is and is silent. the nexas power supply is silent and awsome, and the zelman video card heat pipe witch looks goofy but damn it works good and no sound. usually the video card fan is the worst for noise. But they do carry a truly silent water system if your stuck on it
I'm more of an intel guy so can't help ya there
I'd go for an 3.0 prescot 775 with 1mb cach
I settled for the 3.0 since it overclockes to 3.8 with no problem
the ddr2 400 overclocks to 600 with no problem
using an asus a5ad2 premium mobo. I've usually been against onboard audio but this one kicks ass esecially if you plan on running fiber to a home theater reciever. friggin rocks
can still put on the SB audigy2 ZS with is cool becuase of the front a/v jacks
I'm also into the ati line of video
after trying it I like the
saphire version of the radeon 9800
about the monitor issue?
never heard of that one.
running a 21 inch veiwsonic moonitor with no problems

1 CPU - AMD 64 FX-55
2 Mother Board - Gigabyte Socket 939
