EU is giving Microsoft a hard time
It seems that the EU is after Microsoft lately, this is the latest. Windows will be available without the Mediaplayer installed to give realnetworks and other a change to compete in the streaming media business.

I am not sure if consumers are winning with this one, since you have to buy extra software to play music now.

lol....how rediculous.....i like this, and I quote
"Microsoft was also ordered to reveal details of its Windows software codes - to make it easier for rivals to design compatible products."
hahah I want to buy software from a company that isnt smart enough to design it on their own.....You'd call there tech support and they would be on the phone with Microsoft Text Support.....
I'll be the first to admit I dont care for Microsoft's software to much but it works and it does a good job. I try to find alternative progs, ex Firefox....but alot of the time I have to use IE too get something to work properly...
If I was Bill Gates I'd say "F U, I'll do what I want and no one can stop me now mua ha ha ha ha"

I think the issue becomes the operating system, whereas Microsoft takes advantage of it operating system to make it's products better. So idependent designers are at a disadvantage because they don't know how the operating system code is designed. That is why there is a big push for open source, this would allow all products to become better. I was hoping that the US antitrust action would have resulted in MS breaking into two seperate companies, OS and software.
Have you ever written code?
