ect problem

Hey i have a problem with my ECT button, it wont turn on it use to work but know it doesnt can any one please help me

switch is full of dirt or coke or coffee.remove it and clean it out.

I tried cleaning it but nothing happens well the light on the button turns on when i turn my lights on, but when i press it , the light on the gauges wont turn on

Have you checked to be sure it isn't just the light not working? You should be able to accelerate under moderate to heavy acceleration with the ECT off and then on to see if your shift points change.
