arizona vs California

I have a cousin that has an 87 4x4 pickup he is gonna sell me for $1000. It has a blown head gasket, which is just a days worth of work. He is the original owner and it only has 130K. oh and btw 22re. My question is, california smog... The truck is in Arizona, is there anyway it will have the smog equipment on it to pass in California? Thanks in advance.

Yeah I am not sure, I think the whole idea behind 22rec is the "C" stands for california. but I wonder what the the 22rec has that the 22re doesn't. Anyone know?

No, you'll have to add quite a few things. When I had my 85, the Haynes manual showed diagrams of what the smog equipment should look like in the engine bay for different states. California's diagram had crap EVERYWHERE whereas a few of the other diagrams had only a few hoses and whatnot.
Sorry I can't be more specific, but if you have a Haynes manual you should be able to find out what you need.

hmm, may not be worth trying to fix and sell over here. I guess I could just fix it and sell it over in Arizona.

NO!!! Say it aint so!! Awwwww...#$$(!! ^&@!! CRAP!!! CRAP!! CRAP!! This news is gonna ruin everything I've been planning the past 2 weeks!! Has anyone looked into what exactly it takes to make a 49-state engine a 50-state engine (22RE). Have any of you ever seen a grown man cry?
