2nd Gen Parking Brake Interior Cable

Well I fixed the leaks in the speedometer gearbox with new seals. Now I'm working on replacing the old noisy speedo cable. The biggest problem is disconnecting the parking brake cable from the sliding shaft. Can't even find a good lead in the digital shop manual. One of you guys surely has a trick up your sleeve. Thanks!

I finally got it. It's pretty easy. You just put a crescent wrench on the brake light post and break it off. Then drill it and tap it for a bolt to replace the brake light post. I think I'll lower my opinion of at least a few Japanese engineers.
