smittybilt tube bumpers w/3"bodylift questions

I ordered front and rear smittybilt tube bumpers friday from performance products, and failed to mention that I have a 3" bodylift on my 94 singlecab 4x4. Am I going to have to modify any thing to get these bumpers to bolt up? If so, what and how? I currently have both stock bumpers on my truck. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Do the bumpers bolt to the frame or the body? Either way it doesn't matter... but if they bolt to the frame, you're just gonna have a bigger space between the bumper and body. They will still work.

If you want to get rid of the space, get ahold of Roger Brown at http://www.4crawler.com/ . I'm sure he has some kinda custom bracket to move the bumpers up a little.

You can leave the bumpers where they are, that is they will still fit. If you want to raise the bumpers to match the body lift, then yes you'll need to do something to the brackets. The best option would be to modify the brackets, in back, section out 3" and have it welded back together. In front, you'll need to add 3" to the brackets. I make a
bolt-on front bumper bracket that may work with the Smitty, at least it worked with the Smitty on my '85, since Smitty's make use of the stock mounting holes:

I had to modify my smittybilt bumper in the rear for my 3" body lift. Basically just cut about 3" out of the stock bracket and welded it back up.

Found some pics....

Took the piece I cut out of the bracket and welded it over the new seam to strengthen it.
