pcv valve: 2000 tacoma 2.7L

hey all. im brand new here, and hoping to find some help...

ive been wanting to change my pcv valve (seemed easy enough), but for the life of me, i cant find it. i dont believe it is where my haynes manual says its supposed to be (see attachment), because all i find there is a green plastic threaded part. is my valve hidden under the intake manifold? ive read some of the other threads here and it seems like that might be the case...but i swear ive had my head under that hood 15 times and i still havent the slightest clue as to where it goes...

i already have the pcv valve and i had to order the grommet. any chance someone could help me figure out where the heck they are supposed to go?

its the smaller tube that my finger is pointing to, i would assume that it would be the same, the only difference between your 2.7 and my 2.7 is that Toyota went to coil over plug on yours and i still have wires, hope this helps

i wish it were the same, but its not, i dont have that smaller hose in the back, just the big one. ill try to post a close-up pic tomorrow, the other one was all i had for today.

thanks for the reply and the picture though. i really appreciate it. can you tell me where that smaller hose on yours is coming from? ive gone all through the haynes manual trying to find this info, even the vacuum routing diagram under my hood doesnt mention the pcv valve... *sigh*

Thumbs up mystery solved

for anyone who might eventually run into this same problem - i finally got the right part. even though toyota parts dept originally told me the part i needed was not threaded, i had my truck in for something else the other day and had the service dept order me a new pcv valve. when i went to get it, it was the green threaded part (metal though, not plastic like i originally thought it was). toyota part number is 12204-75020. notice the big difference between the part i got from pep boys and the part that i really needed...

and of course, happy new year all!

What is the silver thing sticking out of the engine...

...to the lower right of spark plug #2 that has a hose coming off it? (look at superjoe83's picture) It's not mentioned in the Haynes manual.

My 2,7 looks like the picture. Is the valve threaded or simply pull to remove? Thanks

Looks like what picture? There are multiple pictures in this thread.

The threaded ones appear to have a hex on them to slip a deep well socket over them....the slip in/pull to remove do not have the hex.
