When can I switch to syntheic in my 05 Tacoma?

Got a little over 700 miles on my 05 Tacoma 4x4 and want to run syntheic. Can I switch now or do I need to run dino for a while?

I hear that the factory oil had extra additives for proper break-in. I would keep what you have for at least 3,000 miles and switch after that.

I think the Toyota recommendation is oil changes every 5000 miles or so- check your owners manual.

Did you post pics of your truck? Glad you're here with an 05!

I would just put it in there with your next oil change (I'm assuming that will be at the end of the break-in period).

I would put it in somewhere between 4000-6000 miles.

I would probably do one dyno-oil change at 1,000 miles (to get all of the assembly gunk out of there), then again at 4,000 miles, then throw in the synthetic.

You can do it two ways. One: Click on the manage attachments button on the bottom of the reply page.

two: sign up for a online picture hosting website. I use www.photobucket.com but you can also use www.imagestation.com, www.webshots.com, etc.

Once the pics are uploaded on the photohosting website, then get the http address for that particular photo and then paste it in the message like this:
[img]www.yourpicturehere.com[/u rl] <-- you would take out the space between u & r.
