Will a 92 bumper and valance fit

on a 91 Runner without too much modification? Getting ready to rebuild after the accident and thought about making some changes.

Also looking for a slightly used cow pusher off an 1800s train for the next time someone decides to pull a U-turn from the right lane.

Also what are the thoughts on aftermarket vs. OEM bumpers...If it says OEM quality is it usually?

pretty sure the bumper style didnt change until 93 at the earliest but until 94. the difference is in the turn signal mounting and valance material. Early 2nd gens had tin valances and later 2nd valances were made of plastic material. If it has the "in bumper" turn signals where they are surrounded on all corners by bumper it will fit on the 91. Even the newer 2nd gen style bumper where the turn signal sits at the base of the bumper should fit. I think where fabbing would come into play would be when your putting a 2nd gen bumper onto a 1st gen or 3rd gen on a 2nd.

Thanks Yoter. Yeah this is the one with the turn signal mounts at the bottom. Just in the initial phases of planning right now. I think I can straighten the headlight baffle instead of replacing it. And will be looking for a right fron fender new or used in the grey that the runner is already in so I don't have to paint it...Here's what it looks like now

The one in the pic is the one where it mounts in the middle. Do you mean the one you are getting is the one mounting at the base?

Hmmm don't know yet as all I've taken off is the end cap. I was more exploring options since I saw this one:

Kinda thought it might change the look a little. I may end up going for stock though. Gotta get the valance as well.

It would change the look a bit. You would need to buy the turn signals and valance being our style bumper and valance are very different.

Yeah kinda got those picked out too. just wondered if it would just bolt on or if I would have to drill anything mainly. Might give it an interesting look.

I dont see any reason the bracketing would be any different.
