Stock intake with aftermarket K&N tube??

Is there any way to make this work? i got the stock airbox back in place, but now im tryin to think of how to make the tube a bit shorter... any ideas??

I would say cut it with a hack saw then sand it down nice and smooth. lowe's and home depot has rubber couplers that look basically like the one that connects the FIPK tube to the throttle body... you can maybe use that to attach the tube to the air box.

but why not just use the stock tube with the silencer removed?? then you could sell the FIPK and maybe get a hundred or so dollars for it.

The whole stock intake is back on now, i will be doing the deckplate mod, and the remover silencer boxes and putting caps over the holes. Has anyone done this? not the deckplate, but the capping the holes? if you have done it, what did you use and how exactly did you do it?
