Has anyone run Yokohama Geolander ATs in the mud? How do they perform?
All my searches only showed the MTs.....

 

they are ok in the mud... for an at they are pretty agressive, however a warning! they are very soft, this means after time they can start wearing funny and are also harder to balance.... the problem with the at is that they need to be rotated every 3000 miles, not the 5000ish everyone regularly thinks.... the geolandar muds are great

 

they are pretty good in mud for an AT. great all around tire, very smooth, quiet and great handling. i used to have supperdigger V's and i like the geolanders even better.

i was surprised at what the V's could do in stickier stuff, but the lateral lugs in the middle part of the tread on the geolanders help the tire grip better.

 

I think there are 2 different geolandars ? AT and AT+

 

Im intrested in these to as long as they make my size.

 

I have the A/T+IIs and they're ok in the mud but they do well as an on/off road tire and well in the snow and aren't prone to hydroplaning easily. They come with a 40k warranty (vs the Revos 50K) and have a nice aggressive look and if you want to be different than all the Revo owners I think the Yoks are a nice choice for a daily driver tire.

 

I've heard bad things about tire wear and cupping. I think the wear rating on them is only 360 and the more they wear, the louder they get...or so I've read. Check out reviews on Tirerack.com and Epinions. Not all are good.

 

I drive hard on mine so I do my rotations at 4000 miles religously and they are holding up well so far and I think they are grippier (hence the lower wear rating) than the Revos and I've driven 3 other Runners that all were Revo equipped.

I know the majority of opinions generally win out but I like 'em they have been good to me with the 1 time a month I average on trails and the all important pavement performance plus they don't have the gaudy lettering on the sides like the Revos do IMO.

 

THe NEW Yokohama MT Geolandars are supposed to be out now.

Same knobby look but longer lasting tread compound, run quiet, and stuff like that

For the first time in 5 years Im running a truck without MUD tires, and man is it nice not to have the dull roar on the highway. I can hear the radio at a regular volume.

The Geolandar AT+II's have been doing great for me offroad so far. Very happy. No significant mud action yet but I have been getting into the deep Talcum dust and loose gravel and rock gardens and have done better than expected
