Don't Buy Genuine Gears

I bought a set to re gear the runner to 5.29's. well, while installing them it came to my attention that they are CRAP!! i have the pinion shimmed within a few thousands of the carrier and the pinion is not deep enough in to the ring yet, i should have payed attention to my friend that "attempted" to install the same ratio in to the same style housing (4cyl, 8") and had the same problem, looks like I'm going to do it right and get a quality gear set :pat: SO TO ALL OF YOU THAT MAY BE BUYING GEARS IN THE FUTURE.....DON'T BUY GENUINE

I learned that lesson myself. Genuine Gear does not make 6cyl gears for toyotas. So instead you are supposed to compensate by shimming the crap out of your pinion. Go with Precision or Yukon and you will save many a headache.

Don't forget about US Gears. http://www.usgear.com/default.htm

If you are lucky that's what you'll find in your Yukon labeled box anyway.
