good choice for welder?
Hey guys, I've been reading through the posts of good welders lately and found one I'm interested in at Home Depot. It sounds like it'll work for what I want to do with it. I'm planning on bending some sliders and simple bumpers and brackets and stuff like that. These are the specs on it and you can see it at www.homedepot.com
Lincoln 3200 HD
120 V hookup
25-135 amps
gas hookup
welds up to 5/16"
$437 for the whole setup
Sound like a good deal and starter kit?

It'll work.
We have pretty much the equivelant in the Miller model and it's a great little welder. The portability of it being less than 50lbs and using 120V makes it absolutely wonderfull to own.
Most guys will suggest opting for a 230V model and I can't argue with that either. We have a 230V Miller also ind it's just alot nicer to use.
If you just plan on truck stuff and not any really heavy use, the 110V unit is definately worth it. If you think you'll eventually wanna weld thicker than 1/4" very much, opt for the 230V.

Awesome. I think thats what we're going to go with for the little stuff we'll be using it for. I would feel alot better buying a lincoln than that cheap 220V welder from Harbor Freight. It's not too bad of a price either for that setup. Thanks for the reply! Anyone else had experience with this welder or any other opinions??
