I've had my eye on the Ivan Stewarts for a while and I found some locally used for a pretty good price so I got them. They are 16"x8" with 4.5" of backspacing. The tires are 285x75x16 BFG AT KO's. The setup that I had before were factory 15"x7" 3rd gen alloy wheels with 33x10.5x15 BFG AT KO tires.

None on level ground but if I am turning hard and I go over a dip it catches just a little bit. I suspect it's the front bumper and a little trimming of the plasitc will cure that.

I have always really liked those wheels but they were too expensive new. Sounds like you found a good deal!

I see you have RockyMounts..How do you like them?

 

They work great. I have had them for over a year and they look practically new. They are a lot cheaper than the yakima ones and are the same quality. The other thing is they come in a few colors so it has a custom look to it.

 

Nice wheels just be careful with those beauties off road.

Any balancing issues?

 

They are used and they have some nicks and stuff on them already which I think will keep me from being really concerned.

None so far. That was my #1 concern in getting these wheels but so far they feel great. No vibes or anything. I think one thing working for me is that these wheels were they original design. On the back of the wheel it says "MHT." The newer ones are stamped with TRD's name and from what I have read the balancing issues came when TRD aquired the wheel design and started making them. I could be wrong. But anyways, with my tire purchase I have lifetime balancing so can always get them rebalanced if need be.

 

Great looking ride! How do you adjust the speedometer to accommodate the change in wheel and tire size? I am thinking about new wheels. Thanks!

 

I really like those wheels! Good upgrade, no offense to anyone, but the model you had prior to upgrading are by far the worst looking 4Runners stockers ever.

 

Unless you're throwing on 35's or higher, its not going to be much of an issue.

Agreed. TRD Ivans are the best, I still love em to this day. Seeing these old pictures makes me want to get a scrub brush and shine them up. Nevermind.... its winter.
