Hello I am new to this site and to toyotas and i have a few questions. I just purchased an 87 toyota pickup that had a turbo the deal was the previous owner got the motor and tranny and computer and i kept everything else. it has a straight axle and at least 6 inches of lift. my friend has and 82 toyota that he is putting a v6 in and wants to sell me his motor tranny and transfercase a carbuerated 22r 4spd i measured his stuff and it seems that it is shorter than the stuff that came out how do i make this thing work thanks alot

 

im pretty sure everything will bolt up the same

 

it'll bolt in, but you need to move the tranny crossmember forward about 4" because the '82 tranny is shorter than an '84 and newer one.

if i were you i'd look for a transmission from an '84 or newer truck, should fit perfectly and be stronger
