Dueler Revos vs Bfg ATs
Not trying to start a flame war but... Which tires look tougher, the Bridgestone's or the BFGs? A lot of you say the Revos but IMO I think the BFG AT is more aggressive looking. If the Revos are so badass, why do they only come in 33's? And why isn't it the OE tire for the H2?

here's a pic of my rig with some 32x11.5r15 BFG ATs. Someone with the revos needs to post a pic so we can see em side by side.
note that i'm a little biased towards the BFGs looking tougher...

Revos have a 50,000 treadwear warranty vs the BFGs non existent one;it would be an easy choice for a Runner or a truck that's a daily driver. Offroad I can't see the BFGs being that much better to make it worth having no warranty IMO.

I've been asking myself this same question since my tire can't be patched and I haven't tried and I haven't tried a plug yet. The guy at Discount Tire said that one reason the BFGs were a better tire was because of the 3-ply sidewall. The BFGs don't have a warranty but I know that they take a very long time to wear down. Here's the price breakdown of what I've found so far:
Discount Tire:
BFG ATs $124 installed X 4 = $496 + tax = ~$536
Tirerack (seems to be the cheapest for the Revos):
$122 X 4 - $50 rebate + $72 shipping + $60 mount and balance = $570
I'm not sure if I'm ready to spend $500 on tires. Right now it looks like I will still have the 4runner for a while. I'm gonna try to plug my tire and see what that does.

You're right about the on-road performance of the Revos but my original question was only for the looks. Many Revo owners thinks it looks meaner than the AT KO, do they actually believe that?

I have had both, and personally I would go with the BFG AT KO's. The tread design is more aggressive where it meets the sidewall, and the KO's never let me down - even thrashing them here in the desert. They were good in the snow, and I never had an issue with them on the road either. Great tires.
Revo's are great too, but the tread design is not as aggressive at the sidewall.

Anyways, I was debating between the two and what it came down to was what kind of tire do I need given my primary use? Thus, Revos was the best of the two. Looks can only get you so far.

It could be that that it does not matter what the OE tire for the over rated and over priced mall cruiser Tahoe in disguise is.

ok here is the skinny:
the revos are awesome! in all conditons.... the only thing they lack is the extra sidewall biters and rimguard that bfg has.... my bfgs were awesome offroad when i aired them down... on the street in the rain though, they sucked and hydroplaned way too easily... i actually did a head to head comparison with 2 nearly identical trucks both stock same gearing, engine, options but differnt suspension designs 94 vs 96 explorer with bfgs and one with michelins and the bfgs jsut did not perform at all in the wet... the revos are supposed to be really great in the rain... when i attend a ride and drive for the revos, i will let everyone know.... they are very highly regarded in the industry as being top dawg for at tires

I was researching tires since april (when i bought my 4runnner ).I was willing to spend any amount on tires , because i know i will be stuck with them for years(the truck is garaged and only driven 3-4 times a month).
I just mounted upa set of BFG at ko's,and they look AWESOME,are very Quiet, and took very little weight to balance.I'm very happy with my decision !
Rain performance ? I live in SoCali-it never rains here.

I debated this same thing...but I ended up going with the BFG Mudders and I could not be happier! They really aren't wearing down that fast and the ride is MUCH better with them than the A/T's because of the "balloon effect" as I say and they KILL off road and they're really not all that bad in the rain, as long as you dont punch it.
I'd go with the BFG A/T KO's my dad has them on his truck and he beats the snot out of them and they are still running strong!

BFG offers wierd sizes too like my 33x10.50r15's or the 33x9.50r15, etc.
The sidewall prtoection is awesome, the rims guard is a nice feature. I have had 33x12.50's and 33x10.50 all terrains and they each recieved 50,000. Just don't do burn outs and make sure you align them. I have never gotten stuck in them....almost in some really oily clayey mud. In the rain they have a tendency to spin out from a dead stop....but I never felt like I was losing control during driving.
Looks??? BFG hands down. The new mt's look sweeeeeeet too.

Here's my revos...personally from an aesthetic standpoint the MT's look way more aggressive...followed by the Revo's and then the BFG's but opinion...i like the tread design on the Revo's lots of cuts whereas the MT's have huge lugs...just a matter of personal preference
