I just finished posting some pictures of my enclosure

My JLs were finally shipped in yesterday. It's nothing crazy or anything, just compact and functional. The carpet color is way off, but will do for now. It makes my 1.5 hr round trip commute tolerable.

Take a look when you have the time. I still need to finish a few things (like cosmetic boards), but it is in and working. I also need to post a few things on the rest of the system.

Thanks guys,
Wes

That's some great custom work. Looks very clean. Where did you buy the subs from?

You have lots of pics there.

So if the woofers are firing into the floor (and I dont see any vents on the cone (black) side) its basically acting as a band-pass box ? any reason why you dont seal off the speaker cone side as well ? (either wood or thick plexiglass) might save the cones from getting dinged up (when transferring box in/out of vehicle) and control the air volume on the cone side a little better ?

Looks like good carpentry skills.

Also like how your cargo space is still functional. BIG POINTS for you on that !

Great looking project! Where did you find the 6W0's? I've been having trouble locating them...

It's actually wedged to allow the bass to "escape" out through that 1" slit below the box, facing the rear of the runner. I think I labeled one of the pictures 1" opening or something like that. You probably didn't see that part. The vent is on the right side of the box.

I am working on getting some expanded steel or predrilled steel (like PA cabinets) to protect the subs. I got to protect these things because they are going to be discontinued any day as JL is getting rid of their W0 line.

I get them from my local JL audio dealer here in OH. He and I go way back and he special ordered them in for me. It took about a week to get them in. I was stopping around at other dealers in the area, and no one has any. They were all more than happy to order them though. I did see some of the premade/preloaded prowedges there though. Way too expensive.

I used to be into honda civics, and I had just one of these in a .25ft3 ported enclosure. That thing rocked in a hatchback. I made some for my friends. One of them put a handle on it and carries it from car to car like a little suit case. I put a 5 way binding terminal on it so he can you a quick disconnect banana plug.

Thanks for all of the complements. I really enjoyed making it. I am still working on setting this stuff up in the 4runner too. I had a bunch of old equipment that I never got around to using.

Later,
Wes
