Badlands, Oct. 2, All Expected, No Excuses!!

Ok I'm coming back to where I began wheeling. I should be there for a week or so. Lets try to get it together for that Saterday. I'm giving you guys like 2 months notice so mark your calenders now. No excuses, study for your exams before before or after saterday. Mid-terms won't be for another week or so after that. Let your wife or girlfriend know now. Otherwise this is enough time to get a divorce or leave her, "or him" as is the case for some of you. Let work know now .. otherwise quit, besides you all live in the midwest, and hate your jobs anyway. This is probably going to be my last run for the season, and then the truck goes in for some serious mods (hopefully).

Mike, Rob, Jp (don't care if your in Az, and drive a pretty truck), Andy, Bill, that guy with the white T100, all the Isuzu guys, that guy with the JGC, and anyone else who I have yet the pleasure of meeting. I expect everyone there. And none of this backing out at the last minute crap either. Plan your family emergencies around wheeling .. you guys know the rules.

Ack, well you can count the White T100 out. Any other weekend in October I could do but that one. And I'd been checking for another run for some time now... oh well. Name is Joel by the way... though I know I have to make it to more than one of these deals to be identified by a name rather than rig. ;-)

Whats up Joel? I'm terrible with names, plus I haven't seen you post on the board at all.

The rest of you .. I know you saw this thread .. come on post up .... if you guys need to shift weekends, I can shift it down a weekend .. thats not a problem. I'll just go to miami first, and then come to chicago.

and you guys call me the web wheeler ....

Yeah, I don't post a lot. I read quite a bit, but don't have too much to offer here. As a T100 owner, 4x4wire is where I post more. I still glean tons from Yotatech though. And the folks here are more proud of their yotas, like I am.

If the weekend was shifted, I'd be a lot more interested. I have a "date check" request in to my wife right now. She's verifying for me that we don't have a wedding to attend or anything else like that on the weekends around that.

Someone send me a private e-mail if it would be appropriate for a basically stock '97 4Rnr to show up. I can certainly arrange for alternate tires if need be... I'm in Chicago and wouldn't mind being exposed to yet another driving sport....

send to robert_a_dupree@bankone.com AND rob@flyinghead.com
THANKS!

a lot of us ran badlands stock like 2 yrs ago. Its still a lot of fun. Theres still a few of us that aren't much more then stock right now, and hopefully they will still show up. We even had a stock JGC run with us once, and he did fine for awhile, and then when things got to be a bit much, he just pulled over and parked it somewhere safe, and jumped in with one of the other guys. There is always a seat open somewhere.

The only suggestion I can make is remove the running boards. There is only one other simple mods that would make it eaiser (sliders, $200) and offer you some extra protection, but its not necessary. And a cb radio (avaialbe at radio shak or Ebay) ... again not necessary, just makes the experience more enjoyable. You've already got a rear locker, so your pretty well prepared to began with.

I'm actually going to be in chicago that friday and drive back down to Indiana early saterday morning. So we can caravan down.

hope to see you there!

I don't have ETAs for you .. mapquest it to attica, indiana .. its a small little town. Pretty much nothing there. So if your planning on spending the night in a hotel, book it in advance. They do have camping at the park available.

Here is the website for badlands. Trust me, its wel worth the drive. http://www.badlandsoffroad.com/info_directions.htm

What level trails did you have in mind, 2s and 3s?
I would hate to break down 4oo miles from home.

there is plenty of bypasses around the hard stuff. Most of it is just nice trails. There is one rock quary if you want to play. There is streams and mud pits ... just a little bit of everything.

Like I said before, if you don't feel comfortable, you can always skip the challenging part, or worse case pull over, and hop in with someone else.
