The front looks like the FTX concept truck. Damn, this thing defintely needs a V8 to match its size.

 

i dont like it anymore, they didnt stick to the traditional "4WD" at the rear mudflaps.
the wheels are nice though.

whatever happened to the "compact truck" market? it's becoming like the '70s once again, stuff that was once small is getting big, ugly, and impractical.

The increased angle of the front windshield and the larger front grill seems to be the latest trend.

Yeah, it looks kind of domestic... it looks kind of Dodge-ish to me.

 

I like it. I like the bigger stance to it. It does kinda have that Dodge Ramish look to it though. But I still like the overall look.

because 90% of people who buy trucks in north america would rather have their truck ride like a car than have it be strong or capable.

 

i'd say more like 99.9%, if there was even a 10% market they'd make a special version IMO


Its also too big for my tastes, i'd rather have a mid-size truck. Those things drive like boats. Good luck parking one in a big busy city, then again you could say that about my truck too (DOH)

I saw a few of these and an Xrunner with a 6 speed manual in houston last week. Also saw the new Landcruiser with vvti. One of the Tacomas was parked next to a Tundra and was almost as big.

One other thing. The beds are abs. No coating, no liner. Solid plastic. I even crawled under one to look. Sure enough. Plastic. Pretty thick, but I wonder what happens the first time someone throws a shortblock or something in there. I guess it would be nice not to have to get a bedliner of some sort, but I question the strength.

 

well, that .1% is the guys that absolutely positively need a straight axle. for the 10% of people who actually use their trucks for hauling and playing around off-road, IFS is "good enough". it would probably be cheaper to produce a beam axle truck though, but it would get slammed in places like consumer reports for not riding like a car, just like everybody expects it to and then lose sales
