Disabling the warning bell on 3rd gen
#2
If you take the cover off the fuse box below the dash on the drivers side, you will see a black box under the fuses with a white connector plugged into it from the front. The speaker for the warning chime is behind the small vented part of the case of the black box. I do not know which wire/wires are the wires for the chime, but if you unplugged the main white connector from the black box, took the box out, and opened the case, I'm sure you would see the wires to the chime, and simply disconnect it/them. I would try it, but the chime has saved me from locking my keys in the Runner before, so I think I'll keep it.

If you want a really cheap/easy/I'm not sure how reliable it is/ way to do it, just tape down the sensor on the door. If you push it in, it stops the sound. My buddy figured that out when we were putting in my new gauges.
