Inverter is in!!! Check out the pics....

I finished up the install on my Coleman inverter today. I think it turned out great!! Here's a couple of pics...

The extension cord is run under the back seat and along the passenger side of the truck up to the front passenger floorboard. This way we can watch DVDs on the ol' laptop and not have to spend $2000 for a video setup. What do ya'll think? Later.

Looking good!
I'm still up in the air about hard wiring mine in.
Is yours easy to detach if you had to?

Nope. It's screwed into the side panel. I don't plan on moving mine, so that's why I ran the extension cord. It's mainly going to be used for tailgating (TV, blender, etc) and watching DVDs on the way to the game. Plus I'm going to have this truck for many more years to come.

I'll post some more pics of the wiring tomorrow. It is mounted on a piece of carpeted plywood (6" x 10.5"). I didn't want to mount it directly to the plastic side panel because I figure that it will get a little warm during extended operation, even though it's got a built in cooling fan. It's an 800W and several of us got it from www.ekitchengadgets.com a few weeks back. they had an awesome sale on it at the time, but their shipping sucked and it took us like two weeks to get them in. I love it though.

Here's a couple more pics of the wiring. I put in those distribution blocks a few weeks back. All of my lights (HIDs, Piaas, and Pilots) go into the small distribution block. My two amps, the inverter, and the small distribution block go into the larger distribution block on the side. I've got two 4 gauge wires coming from it going to the battery. For the inverter, I ran 4 gauge wire for the ground and power. I come off of the larger distribution block and go through that 100A Stinger circuit breaker and then through the firewall to the inverter. I had a local car stereo shop drill me another hole in the firewall. The ground wire runs to one of the bolts for the back seat underneath the backseat. The extension cord is a heavy duty 15' 15A cord that I picked up at Lowe's for about $10. The 15' turned out to be the PERFECT length. Let me know if you've got any more questions.

BTW, I got all my wire, connectors, distribution blocks, breaker, etc from SoundDomain.com
