I was out screwing around quite a bit this weekend in the Runner and got into some nasty stuff where I had to get a little wild to get out of. Anyways I've had a slight front end vibration for a while now. I had my tires balanced twice and that helped considerably but it was still there. I had it in for an alignment but the cams on the back of my control arms are seized. They said the camber was just barely out of spec so I didnt' really worry about it. Anyways on the 180 mile drive home yesterday my Runner is driving like a dream. The vibration I had is gone. Only thing I can figure is I tweaked the aligment slightly or tweaked something else. Either way I'm happy that vibration is gone it was driving me nuts!
Disclaimer: Don't go out and thrash your truck tonite trying to fix a vibration.. I think I either got lucky or have other problems...haha

Alignment tweaking process, off-roading method:

Find a large rock, approximately the size of a coffee table. Approach at precisely thirty three degrees starboard drift, at exactly 24 miles per hour. At a distance of 4 feet from the rock, depress the accellerator to the floor. To verify the proper lauch achieved, note that the vehicle should become airborne to an altitude of 5.5 feet and land flat on all four wheels. Repeat until the vehicle behaves properly on the highway.

Note: the above method may not actually work, but it is great fun, especially if the vehicle is on loan or a test drive from a car lot or is a rental vehicle. (Or your ex-wife's vehicle...)

 

I always find that driving threw deep mud holes helps with vibrations, Also works as a good "Sound Shield",

As soon as my Tuck starts acting up I go and beat up on it.

Must be offroad withdrawl or something
