oil change gotta love it

Greetings Well I did the Oil Change on my 2001 Taco and what a pain that was, nothing like my 84 PU. I took off the 2 skid plates and spent forever trying to get the filter off, some bone-head put it on TIGHT. I can change the oil in the old truck in 10 minutes, this took over an hour. I would like to personally thank the Toyota engineers for placing the oil filter in one of the worst spots. Gonna have to look into a remote filter set up, and move it to a better spot. //rant off//

Ahhh... must be a V6. It's a lot easier if you reach in through the drivers side wheel well. You can lift the splash guard and put your hand right on it or it or if it's really tight, you can put an end wrench on it with a straight shot for a long socket extension.

I just change the oil on my the other day and it was the most easiest oil change i have ever did! thank to the oil filter being on top of the motor! but I had to crush the heck out of the factory oil filter to get it loseing! They tighting those thing on so tight at the factory! ohh and i all most drain the tranmission fluid instead of the oil! saw RED fuild dripping out and quickly tighting the bolt back up. trought it was the oil pan.
