Bought some 16" Taco Wheels-Tire ?'s Again-Updated Pics
I bought a set of used 16x7 Tacoma wheels and I am unsure of the look on my 4Runner (not mounted yet). I bought these to run some 285's, but I'm rethinking that now, to maybe keep my 15's and run 32x11.50x15 Swamper SSR's (32.5" tall) or BFG MT KM's in 33x10.50x15 (32.8" tall) with some 1" wheel spacers to make up for the loss in width or run 285 BFG MT KM's on the Tacoma wheels. The wheels are the newer 5 spoke alloy wheels (NOT like the Limited 4Runner wheels). So, give me your opinions, I have a 1999 4Runner V6 5spd and 4.30 gears (see my sig)
Option 1: 285 BFG MT KM's on the 16x7 Tacoma alloys (1/4" wheel spacers to keep the tire off the a-arms?)
Option 2: 33x10.50x15 BFG MT KM's on my stock 15x7 alloys and some Marlin 1" wheel spacers to recover the loss in overall width
Option 3: 32x11.50x15 Swamper SSR's on my stock alloys and possibly some 1/4" wheel spacers to kep them off the a-arms
Think I'll have a problem towing my pop up camper (approx. 1900 lbs) with the 33" tires, 5spd and 4.30 gears?
I know it's another tire thread from me, but hey, you guys like discussing tires anyway

its a tough call, one i dont want to make.
but i will chime in to tell you that a 1" wheel spacer will not work in the rear. the studs in the rear are around 1 1/8" long so they will contact the wheel spacer when the spacer is placed over the studs. 1.25" is minimum for the rear.

Run the Taco 16's, they should look good. Don't get the wheel spacers until you know for sure you need them
You should be ok for towing with such a light trailer, especially with the 5spd. Give it a try and if you have lost too much, you can always regear when you have the $$$.

Hey man. Well, I don't know what to tell you about the tires. Try and photoshop a picture, or have someone do it, of the Taco wheels on your truck and maybe that would give you an idea whether you like them or not.
I wanted to say that my borhter told me a while back that he saw a nice 4Runner in Auburn while on patrol. When he told me about the rear bumper I knew it was you. I told him to pull you over next time just to piss you off.
But, he doesn't bother folks in 4x4s unless they're doing something really stupid so no worries.

Ryan, thanks for the heads up on the spacers.
AUJWE-don't pull me over please, if it's around time, most likely my wife is driving it
I found a couple of pics of a 3rd gen on Tacoma wheels-this is not my 4Runner, but it is the same color:

I also added some pics of the SE4RJ-most will be posted already and some pics of my last vacation.

A friend found another 3rd gen on Tacoma wheels:

I'm starting to think that the Tacoma wheels may look ok.
