4RocNC Uwharrie Run- Everyone's Invited!

Come on down and join us. Uwharrie has a little bit of everything to offer. Depending on the weather mostly, but my buddy's stock taco made it through with only minor rear hitch bumps every now and then (he also had a huge mulitball thing in there that he forgot the key too...) There is good camping, a lake, and most importatly... Wheeling!! If we book stuff earily enough, we could proabably get everyone lakeside unless you want to try and risk finding a good spot on the trail. I know I will be camping. If you want to see just how far you are, uwharrie is in troy north carolina let me know if you need a zip, but I don't think you do. Click Here for the official site. If you want pics of previous 4Roc trips, Click HERE .

Ah, now the dates! I will be there July 9th (friday) til the 11th (sunday). I may even be there thursday, but doubt it. Click HERE

Everyone that got a taiste at SE4RJ that is ready for more come on down!

I'm ready for some more, I'll try to keep that weekend open. Does the campground have full hookup for a pop up camper? Which campground would we be staying at?

Talking Interested

My interest is peaked...tell me more so I can make plans cause this ain't but 3 weeks off and I'd like to go, especially since I can come and go in a day's trip!

Ryan and Brett, either of you guys interested in a caravan as I'll be going straight through Hotlanta on my way there, if I can go. Gotta ask the boss!

I would be up for a caravan, but my top speed with the camper is about 65 or so b/c any faster and it starts to sway.

I'm not a speed demon! I'd rather drive in a caravan than all by myself the whole way! You pretty serious about going pending more information?

How many does that camper sleep? I'd be willing to share in some expenses for a roof over my head!

Most likely my wife would be with me, but I won't know till later on. I want to see some more info and who's going first.

Talking Yo

Is this thing a go or just a whim yet? I've only seen about 5 folks reply and only seen some definite maybes. I gotta have some definite commitments before I'm going to drive that far for just a few folks showing up. Anyone else interested in going to this ride?

I'm definately game! I have a years pass at uwharrie, and I want to get my moneys worth. I also have 4 day weekends every weekend right now so I will definately be there, espcially if you guys are even considering showing. I'll go if one other person is going. I think will (seaflea) is a definate as well as a couple other 4Roc guys, but I know a couple coughjeremycough won't be able to make it as he is still driving a caravan . Anywho, I'm definately going to be there, if you want to just figure out camping when we get there it will be much cheaper, or if you want to book in advance that will work too, but cost us a bit more. Which would you rather do? I'm almost positive my buddy from school with a taco and a tjm will join us too but he will probably get there fri night or sat. Then there is another guy from W-NC that is probably going to make it. I have to call him mid/end of next week to see if he can come for sure.

As for campgrounds...
If the wife is demanding showers, let me just say this... we stayed at arrowhead last time for that reason and the wives themselves, said that it wasn't worth it. If we stay at badinlake campground, its not even that far from arrowhead and we can use their facilities and ps, they aren't that great. you don't have to tell them that but... they aren't... I mean, they are showers... but Ive been in much cleaner.

Aaaaanyway... Who else is comming?? I'll definately be there! Come on up wabbit, I want to see that blacked out rig of yours!

Talking I'm game

Oh yeah, I'm game, just seems the details are sketchy now at best and with a wife, kids, work, I can't just up and go in a moments notice, I gotta make some preps ahead of time and need more notice than a couple weeks. So let me know something A.S.A.P. so I can plan accordingly. Thanks!

EDIT: The boss said I can go as she and the boys will be out of town that weekend anyway. I'd be looking at driving up Friday night, wheeling all day Saturday, and driving back Sunday. I guess the big question is, where are we staying and are we camping?

Yeah, we are definately camping. The question is where. If everyone wants to throw down on a place, I will reserve one in advance. It is cheaper to ride up though. What would you rather do? I'll get some prices...

Yeah, we have been talking about it for over a month, and ryan found the thread and said I should post it over here too and that you guys would probably be interested. I have posted all the other meets over here, and never got any interest so I kind-of gave up, but I'll start doing it from now on!! We definately need to agree on a place to stay though. We definately need one place to make a basecamp. It just makes things so much easier. Does everyone have a readio? Ive got everything... FRS, GMRS, CB. I'll have two extra FRS radios also.

Well, I'll be leaving Friday afternoon, thus arriving after 10:00 p.m. that Friday night, so I'd like to be able to know where you guys are going to be in advance so you can give me some directions and so I can find you!

My map ended up getting ruined, I'll ask the guys if anyone has one to scan or something for you, those were the best, that they had at the outpost. There is one online also though. I'll post that over here too. So runnerboy, you going to stay with us this time! Come on down! As for the not too many people there, maybe on the trail. But the campgrounds were full from what I could tell... Which is FINE by me, we only came head on two two jeep clubs who were really nice and we were able to go around quite easily.

Map Here

When do you other guys want to meet and where? I say we stay at badin lake campground. Its the best one. Do people want to meet there, or at the outpost. Its a great place to meet also, they have a big field for group parking, an air pump, you can buy passes there (its $5 a day or $30 for a year), they have food, and of course gas. Or we could meet at the badin lake campgrounds.

For mapquest directions to the outpost (which is on the map) us this address:
Eldorado Outpost
4021 NC Highway 109 N
Troy, NC 27371
