price for 96-97 taco

Hello,
I was wondering what some of you have paid for a used 96-97 taco, extended cab, or regular and 4x4, retail and also what trade in might be for one. Please no KBB or NADA .com references. Those guides are in my opinion Malarkey.

I paid $7,000 for mine about 2 years ago. It was in good condition with 110K miles on it. It was about to be traded by the owner but he was trying to sell it privately first. I was prepared to pay more after my first offer. Apparently the dealer wasn't even going to give him that much, so he said yes to my first offer.

If you can, I would say sell privately because the dealer probably isn't going to offer you as much for it. They sure as heck will sell it for alot though.

You oughta take it to a dealer and act like you might be willing to trade and see what they would give you for it.

Well, my dad just picked up a '97 standard cab 2wd 2.4L for $4K, but it was a salvaged title, but the frame and engine are in solid condition. It had about 108K miles on it.
