Sierra Madre Expedition - 2003

Yea, I am a little late getting this out...

Sierra Madre Expedition 2003 - Trip Gallery

It was a fantastic journey. Nine days in the northern part of the Sierra Madre of Mexico. Both in Chihuahua and Sonora. It was a historical type of trip, with the focus on the Apache of the Sierra Madre, and a little bit of Carl Lumholtz nostalgia too. The trip included an attempt to get to the spot on the Rio Aros where Capt. Emmet Crawford was killed my Mexican irregulars during the Crook Expedition of 1883. We also visited Canon de los Embudos. Do any of you know what happened there?

I know! It was there that a large number of attractive, single women were discovered and the area was developed into the first popular Spring Break destination outside of Cancun. Señoritas Embudos:

Sorry, couldn't resist. I didn't know until I googled so I won't give it away. Interesting and historic, though.

I must say that you're using your well-equipped rig in the best way possible. Adventure travel with friends in 4X4's to exotic locales is the "highest and best" use of your truck. Thanks for posting your spellbinding travel stories, they inspire and motivate the rest of us posers. Well done.

Where did you get that quote from?!

Yep, you're right. I had the short-term memory failure thing going for me. Guess he would've had to back up and take a different line, then, eh?!
