With all this "Slider Adapter" and "48" or 60"" talk around here, I have been curious...
Just how do you mount your Hi-Lift Jack. I have a Load Warrior with an extension and just have to get some input here...


I have seen Steve's (from his site)


I have seen Corey's (from his site)



But, what are everyone else's ideas?
I really want something with some security here...

 

$1.69 at the hardware store...just 2 bolts, 2 nuts, and a bunch of thickwashers. I basically just put 2 holes in the surco rack...plopped the highlift onto the bars and clamped it down with the bolts. You can see in the second picture that I had it resting on the Thule Bars and then bolted it to the Surco rack. I used large washers to acutally clamp it onto the lower support bar of the rack (its not just on the pannelling where I made the holes). Has worked excellently for over a year now. Cheap and easy...harder to get off than the other options probably, but definitely doable. If I still had the truck, Id take some better picks, but this is all I have of it:

 

Security as in theft proof?

You can drill right through the Slee bolts and then put a padlock through the hole.

Jackson, I see the pic but cannot tell just how it is mounted. What brackets did you use with the Surco?

 

I have the brackets from Hi-Lift and the ones from Surco. Both work, but I'm not realy crazy about either. The Hi-Lift backets don't fit the surco that well, and I don't like the way the jack is secured to the surco brackets. I'm hoping to alter the surco ones just a bit to get the best of both worlds.

 

Well, I just received the REI Sale Catalog and found out that this is the time of the year when all Yakima is 20% off. That just might force me into buying these and having them delivered to my local store for free shipping.
