Driver side oil cooler outlet help. Silicone Cap or replace with plug ?
89 v6 manual 2wd
Hey guys trying to cap or remove the driver side coolant outlet. Motor installed and looks like the engine mount blocks a socket from going fully in. Unless I cot a socket half way yo try to remove.
im having a hard time getting a socket on it. 17mm I believe.
Would a silicone cap work? Would a 3/8 silicone cap work and be done with it

This is the coolant outlet attached to the water pump or the block? If yours had an oil cooler from factory it’s a good thing to keep/replace. I’ve been told it does a noticeable amount of help if you have a tired radiator.
If youre talking about the block port and can’t get it unscrewed, I don’t see any reason capping and hose clamping shouldn’t work. I have one on a 3.0 water pump right now. Temporary fixes are the best permanent ones.
The one that fit on the water pump outlet is 7/16” or abt 11mm. Hopefully that helps and the block one is same size.

I had to fight it to get in. I heated it to make it easier and also used dish soap. Hope this holds for now.
I need to figure out a way to remove it. Maybe a L shape wrench or cut a socket in half or a thin wall socket. Idk eally.
anyone removed this with engine installed.

Hey guys. I finally got that outlet off. I used a crow foot wrench. It was not easy since there is not much room in there. Little by little got it off. I already ordered the plug from a toyota dealer.
part number is Part number 90344-53015 for plug
Once i get it ill post
