Caribouyota Ashtray Cupholder review

Hello all!! This is going on my 91 pickup and this specific unit is listed for 1989-2004 truck and 1990 to 2002 4Runner.

Price when purchased was 39.99 plus shipping total was 50.89.

So I came across Caribouyota and I was intrigued by the cupholder that goes in the ashtray, so I put it on my Christmas list and my lady got one for me!!! Figure I would post some pics and a basic review. As everyone knows the stock cupholder is ok but it’s like a bouncy trampoline at times and some I’m sure have broke and haven’t been fixed so this looked super cool

Very easy to install and holy moly I finally got to use my 5.5mm mini wrench that I have never used before!!

The Cupholder:

Couple more pics:

Installing is a breeze and it actually locks in place.

I had an extra weather tech cup liner and it fit right in, you can see in the bottom.

My beat up favorite coffee cup actually fits!!!! Yay.

I still need to figure out why my KENWOOD sticks out further than my pioneer did, I do have the screen tilted up but I still think it should sink further in the dash, I am using the factory radio mounts and there really isn’t any other way or holes to use, but for now it is what it is. Pic of clearance, you can see the bottom of the deck protruding a bit but my cup still fits.

But really that’s it, thought I would share as I am super excited to have another cupholder that’s functional and no drill and just pops right in!!!!

They also have some other neat stuff on the site, all I’m sure are 3d printed.

Here is the link to the site: https://caribouyota.bigcartel.com

Here is a link to this cupholder:https://caribouyota.bigcartel.com/pr...upholder-90-95

They have options for 79-83 pickups, 84-88 runners LHD/RHD and more.

Anyway, I have not driven with the cupholder yet but it’s a cupholder so I’m sure it will work just fine!!! Super excited!! And is it worth 50 bucks? Personally I say yes, clean factoryish look, no drill and who doesn’t want an extra cupholder

Disco.

It’s pretty stout, it slides in the same rails that the ashtray uses, pressed down on it with quite a bit of force and it doesn’t move. I’m sure it has its limits but the pressure I was pushing on it is way more than a drink would weigh.

Couple more pics I forgot, first is the unit paired together and you can see the rails that slide in the dash slots, it also has two tabs that lock it into place so it won’t slide out second pic is the underside when installed.

I've had one in my 86 for quite a while, and like it a lot. Jake(the owner) is a nice guy and very serious about the quality of his products.

Yea surprised I haven’t seen anything on here, I searched the boards and didn’t come across any mentions. But yea they have some cool stuff, if I didn’t have a double DIN receiver I would buy the switch plate that goes in the cubby in a heartbeat
