Snapped my adjustment bolt for my torsion bars on my 87 4runner, the hexagon that goes on there is super seized onto the broken bolt and that part is discontinued. Can I only use the old ones/junkyard or do the newer generation bolts work with the old torsion adjustment arms? Also would I be able to fit newer generation adjustment arms in there to adapt for the newer bolt, or would I need all new torsion bars, fitments, etc…
Just did my lower control arm bushings. The torsion bar has to be removed. I had ordered new Toyota hardware for the torsion bar last year for the project. Here's what happened with one of the bolts/nuts. Had to reuse one of the old bolts and nuts. I also had a new toyota ball joint bolt stretch on install. Not sure quality of Toyota hardware is what it use to be.
Check MacMaster Carr for replacements. If you can get bolts from a junk yard go for it.
