95 22RE 4x4 IFS pickup shocks
I’ve had a 1.5” ball joint spacer up front paired with longer shackles in the rear, and been running old man emu nitrochargers for about 4 years. I was never impressed with the ride quality to begin with. My truck is a commuter and not loaded much. When it is loaded, it does ride much better. OME shocks are stout for the application. Roughly, my pickup sits about 1.5-2” taller, hence the reason for OME shocks. I didn’t think Bilstein 4600’s would work given the lift, despite my preference to those shocks having owned them prior on numerous other rigs. So I’ve been contemplating switching to a different shock. Maybe back to the Bilstein 4600 if anyone has legit experience that they’ll run well with the added lift. Or, is there something else? There’s lots for lifts with 3-4”, but it seems options are rather limited with the shorter 1-2” application. Let me know what has worked. Thanks

Some info on the shocks I chose several years ago, nothing fancy, these were cheap Gabriels from Autozone. Back then I found a Gabriel chart that gave me the extended and compressed length of the shocks, so I just browsed that list until I found ones that met my requirements. I have no idea what is available these days, but at least if you read my post from 2011 you will see the extended and compressed lengths that I was shooting for. I don't have much of a meter on how well mine rides, I mean it's an old truck on 33" mud tires with an extra leaf tucked into my spring pack, so I'm not the best reference for ride quality.

Having installed, then removed, OME leafsprings, i can only imagine how hard the ride is with their shocks.
Bilstein does have a few different lengths for your year/model, maybe contact them to see if one might be suitable with 1.5" lift.
I've always been impressed with their ride quality compared to most every other brand.

Last fall I installed KYB shocks from RA that were reasonable priced and also had a rebate, had to hold my nose on that purchase, haven't had the 4runner out yet but I suspect a hardish ride. My other choice might be Sachs, I think Bistein 5000 series are for mild lifts.
