Hey everyone,

i have an 86 4wd with a 22r equipped with a weber 32/36 and the truck was running great but then i did some light wheeling and now she runs extremely rough at idle and will stall out. When in gear, she runs great. I will check timing and idle mix and idle speed screws but i feel like its something else. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! The truck is now lazy when starting, instead of starting right up like before, she needs some persuasion with the gas pedal and maybe like 10-15 revolutions with the starter??

 

I'd check the choke first, if that's working right I'd clean the idle jet...a tiny spec of dust can cause the symptoms you're describing. Last thing is if the carb is leaning out at wide open throttle, I think it will cause exhaust valves to tighten and eventually lead to idle problems. The best way to troubleshoot that is with a wideband o2 sensor...you may need to rejet to fix.
