alternator woes, 1988 4runner

anybody tried any HO alternators off ebay?
are there any drop in plug n play alternators for my 3vze with higher output?
here's why.

i recently got my rebuilt motor installed and have an electric fan setup with champion radiator.
i bought one of those usb charger things that shows voltage and put it in the cig lighter hole.
after starting it yesterday, i noticed it read 11.2v instead of the normal 14.2v.
i've wired the fan direct to battery with switch under ashtray. it works well but the voltage visibly drops when i turn on the fan.
also i want to add some lights and a winch, so an HO alternator would be nice.
any quick solutions????
thanks in advance.
