VST-012 vs. 90910-12073
I'm looking for a new replacement on the blue VSV for my 1988 Toyota 4Runner 3.0L VZE and noticed there were no AISIN options for the blue one, I was able to find the "VST-012" on Amazon and it looks like a direct replacement however the site states it doesn't fit. For how basic these valves are it seems like it would work, just curious if someone has an answer for this. I have already purchased it and will be testing it myself, but seeing what I can gather in the meantime. Both the valve and electrical outlet look the exact same but websites state it won't fit.

Some VSV's are normally open, others are normally closed, some vent one side to atmosphere, others do not..... you get the picture
There are many possible differences in function.

I plan on moving the cylindrical end cap from the original since the new one doesn't have it and going to test blowing with my mouth when its closed and open to see if they're similar and going from there.

For anyone that stumbled across this thread with the same situation, just letting you know it worked. All you gotta do is remove the cylinder at the end of the 90910-12073 and put it in the same place on the VST-012.
