'92 4WD 3.0 V6 not a clogged fuel filter but truck will decelerate and quickly rtn nm
Hi everyone,
This is my 1st post so please bear with me if I make a mistake. My 1992 toyota 4wd has a problem I can't fig out. When I'm driving, in really any gear but most often 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, once I stop pressing the gas pedal the truck will decelerate like there's a clog in the fuel filter and then quickly go back to normal. It makes the truck lurch forward when it returns to normal and is quite annoying. I've had the fuel filter checked, fuel pump replaced and the air intake taken out and switched with one from a pick n pull by a mobile mechanic, and nothing has fixed the problem. I don't know about the mechanic that replaced the air intake because he told me he, "bypassed" my fuel pump? What the F? That's probably not good and it didn't have any affect on the issue at hand. Does anybody understand what I'm saying, and if so, has anyone else experienced this problem before?
Thank you all so much,
Kristy

I'd guess two things. The tech gave your fuel pump direct power to bypass the vehicle's wiring to isolate and test the factory pump, or they disconnected your oem pump(bypassed) and installed an aftermarket one. The repair order is supposed to explain what they did. But that's just my guess.
To confirm that the issue is truly fuel-related a fuel pressure gauge could be installed and then drive the vehicle, watch what the gauge does when the drivability issue hits.
It's not setting codes?
