I’ve got a bad knock under the passenger side valve cover. Removed plenum and valve cover, found baffle failed and fell and first cam lobe was hitting baffle. Replaced valve cover with used OE cover (picknpull special) and the knock persists, sounds and feels exactly like original issue. Cam looked fine and all caps were tight. Truck runs good so it doesn’t seem like a stuck valve or anything. Just not sure why the cam would be hitting the baffle. Any help and knowledge is very much appreciated!!

 

Do you have good oil pressure? If that is good I would say it probably needs the valves adjusted which is a bit of a pain but is necessary to keep a 3vz running right

 

I’ve got good oil pressure and the truck runs great, I’m going to tear into it again this afternoon and check clearances and I’ll keep the thread updated on what I find.
