88 needs a complete rear window channel replacement

I've got a 1988 4Runner that the rear window lift channels are shot. I've been looking everywhere I can think of but appears they aren't available anymore either new or even used. As such, I am considering trying to use the channels made for 4Runners from 1989-90 through 95, since they seem to be readily available. Looking at photo's it seem I could use those even though they are two separate pieces instead of one like my '88. Anyone have any experience in trying this? I've got everything out and repairing everything so just need to figure this out. Any thoughts or knowledge appreciated.

I dont have photos , but we use them all the time in my shop .. have been for years .
only real differance is the stud on the bottom of the rail for the defroster .
just be sure to get the roller channels in the same place , as the single roller channels
