Starting Issue 1992 4Runner 6 Cyl

I did go through some threads to see if this subject had been posted already. But, I either missed it or it was deeply buried.
Anyhow, recently when I turned the ignition, the radio and lights will come on but there's no clicking or anything. So, I turn the keys back and go quiet, then try again. Sometimes it will start up. And sometimes it takes a few tries. Today it took over a dozen tries until it finally started. I'm hoping it's something relatively simple that can be done instead of replacing the started. Any ideas what might be causing this? Loose wires? Fuse? Any ideas? Thanks

First thing I'd check is the battery cable connections. Make sure they're clean and free of corrosion. I'd recommend taking them apart and cleaning them, then reconnect. Also check your grounds. After you've ruled all that out and the problem still persists then you might start looking at the ignition switch. How many miles does it have on it? The more miles, the more usage on that switch. They do wear out.

Thanks. It wasn't the ignition switch as you can here it doing it's job. The starter needs to be replaced.
