Question 86 22re Throttle Body Confusion!

Hey guys! I've been trying to find some clear answers about this on here for a long time, but it seems like every part I find gets contradicted elsewhere, so I'm going to try and start my own thread to hopefully get some clarification.
I just finished my top-end rebuild on my 1986 pickup with the 22re, additionally, it's an SR5 truck with a 22rec tag on the VIN. It's got the 268 torquer cam from Redline Cams, a brand new cylinder head and rocker arms, LCE longtube headers, new distributor and a number of other things here and there. I'm chasing a series of idle issues, at first, it wouldn't stay running at all without throttle and we determined that to be a combination of bad timing and incorrect valve adjustment on my part not building enough compression. Once that was taken care of, it would idle at cold, but it would get super low when warmed and die out eventually. I found a few vacuum leaks, and adjusted my idle air control screw, but since those are the only things I am sure I understand I figured it would be better to wait and figure out everything else before I start messing with it. It also took much longer to crank when cold than it did before, and I think I realized the issue there, I installed a larger Ford-style starter relay instead of the unreliable and expensive Toyota model, and in the process, the cold start injector timer wasn't getting power when cranking and not giving it the extra fuel. What I'm really confused about is the variation in throttle bodies between models and sensor locations and duties. I was able to see the difference between the idle air control valves on the 85-88 and the 89-95, but I want to confirm I get them more, on mine, I have the smaller unit attached to the throttle body which presumably means the part bolted below the intake with the hoses going tot he throttle body and the intake is the idle air control valve? If so, does that mean the air travels from before the throttle plate through the part bolted to the intake plenum, up to the port in the middle of the intake?
I've also been considering upgrading to the LCE big bore throttle body kit since I have an upgraded intake and it might resolve some variables, plus I'm a sucker for shiny parts LOL. My question with that is, for people that have bigger bore throttle bodies, have you also bored out the intake to match? I can't see a way that isn't a very literal bottleneck, and LCE doesn't mention it on their website.
Another question, sorry I have quite a few, I just want to absolutely confirm, which temperature sensor communicates to my gauge? I believe my gauge is specific to the SR5 Cluster and I haven't been able to confirm which one I have to address since the gauge reading is all over the place. Thanks so much in advance for the help!

Hmm, that was a lot to digest.
Stop. slow down. Maybe even back up a bit. Deal with what you got right now. Get your engine dialed in and running right, then make changes one at a time. The worst thing you could do right now is keep making more changes hoping they fix your existing issues(they won’t)

I agree with Jimkola.

I a familar with both versions of the IACV (Idle Air Control Valve). If I understand correctly, your understanding of the IACV is correct. If you have further specific questions about the IACV post them up.

The larger Throttle Body is useless unless machining the plenum. As Jimkola stated, get it dialed in before wanting more.

How did you set up the ford style relay? In what way is the Toyota relay unreliable?
